Ohio Liquor License Types

Ohio, D-5 Liquor License Permit – Full Liquor – On & Off-Premise Sales

OH - A D-5 Liquor License Permit authorizes the sale of Hard Liquor, Beer, and Wine for on-sale and off-sale consumption.

A D-5 Liquor License Permit authorizes the sale of Hard Liquor, Beer, and Wine, for consumption on the premises in a restaurant, bar, or nightclub setting. 

A D-5 permit also allows for the sale of Hard Liquor, Beer, and Wine for off-premise ("to-go") consumption. A D-5 liquor license permit can normally be moved anywhere across the state using the TREX option. 

A D-6 Sunday sales license can be attached to a D-5 to allow for seven days of sales.

Ohio, D-3 Liquor License Permit - Hard Liquor - On & Off-Premise

OH - D-3 Liquor License Permit allows for the sale of Hard Liquor, Beer, and Wine for On-Sale (Restaurant, Bar or Nightclub) consumption.  

D-3 liquor license permits authorize the sale of hard liquor for mixed drinks (rum/coke, vodka/soda, whiskey-sour, tequila-sunrise, bottles as well as shots). 

In addition, with a D-3 permit, you can sell bottles for consumption away from ("to-go") the establishment. 

This liquor license permit can be combined with a D1 and a D2 license to allow for the sale of beer, wine, and hard liquor. 

A D-3 permit can normally be moved anywhere across the state using the Trex Option.

Ohio, D-2 Liquor & Wine (On & Off-Premise Liquor License)

OH - D-2 liquor license permits authorize the sale of wine and prepared cocktails of less than 24% alcohol by volume for on and off-premise consumption for a restaurant, bar, or other on-premise establishments.

Wine and cocktails sold at the premise may be sold in either a glass or the original container. 

Wine and bottled cocktails for sale for off-premise consumption must be sold in the original container. 

A D-2 liquor license Permit can be combined with a D1 and D3 license to allow for the sale of beer, wine, and hard liquor. 

A D-2 permit can normally be moved anywhere across the state using the Trex Option.

Ohio, D-1 Beer Permit On & Off-Premise

OH - D-1 liquor permit authorizes for the sale of beer for consumption both on and off (to-go) of the premise and are issued to restaurants, bars, hotels or other types of on-premise establishment.

Beer sold at the premises may be sold in either a glass or its original container. 

Beer sold for off-premise consumption must be sold in its original container. 

A D-1 Permit can be combined with a D2 and D3 license to allow the sale of hard liquor, beer, and wine. 

A D-1 permit can normally be moved anywhere across the state using the Trex Option.
