  6. At Preliminary Hearing: The public hearing will take place, and the ABC Application, along with the supporting documents, will be read into the record. After the preliminary hearing, any remaining items must be completed and submitted within 10 days. This will help you avoid delays in the New Mexico ABC processing your application. 
  7. Issuance of Hearing Officers Recommendations: After the closing date of Posting and once the ABC Application for a Sandoval County alcohol license has been reviewed by the Legal Department, if required, you will have to revise or provide any additional documents that are still needed before receiving preliminary approval.
  8. Review of Recommendations by Director for Preliminary Approval: When the ABC Application for a Sandoval County liquor license and Recommendations have been reviewed by the Director, your application will be shared with the local governing body where you plan to run your business. 
  9. Application Forwarded to Local Option District and Public Hearing at Local Option District Level: The local governing body will publish notice of a hearing at the local governing body and perform a public hearing before the local governing body within 45 days of submitting the ABC Application for a liquor license in Sandoval County.
  10. Decision by Local Option District: After the hearing with the local governing body takes place, they have 30 days to provide us with all of the signed documents. 
  11. Notice to Applicant of Final Deficiencies and/or Licensing Fee: At this time, your Hearing Officer will contact you to let you know if any further information or paperwork is needed. You will also need to finalize payment of the Licensing Fee prior to being issued the alcohol permit in Sandoval County, New Mexico.
  12. Final Approval by Director: The Director will review all documents once the ABC Application is completed and the payments have been made and received.
